Racism rising and vacation flings

Creationist classrooms and buildings in ashes
Lobbyist windfalls and light sticks in asses
Torture and war while cash registers ring
These are a few of my favorite things

Headstones in graveyards and banners on coffins
Bright terror warnings and casualties often
Late empty gestures, the drowning it brings!
These are a few of my favorite things

When the polls drop
When the press stings
When I’m feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don’t feel so bad
